Series Overview

The Sandy Ridge Trail System is a world-class recreation facility that provides innovative, gravity-oriented mountain bike trails adjacent to 70% of Oregon's population. The success of the system relies on its proximity to the Portland metropolitan area, the ability to respond dynamically to opportunities, and the partnership between trail use advocates and the Bureau of Land Management.

To support the continued development of this facility, the BLM is partnering with Portland-based bike industry leaders to hold the 1st annual Sandy Ridge Spring Brake Super D Series. Proceeds from this series will be used to support new trail construction during 2011, through a dedicated trail building fund established by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA).

Mark your calenders on March 20th, 27th, and April 3rd the Sandy Ridge Trail system will be figuratively on FIRE with racers pushing the limits of man/woman and machine in order to claim top prize in each respective category. All proceeds will go to supporting the continued growth and maintenance of the Sandy Ridge Trail system.

Race entry will be $20.00 per race. The three race series is being offered at a discounted rate of $50.00 and the series fees are discounted an additional $10.00 if you attend the BLM/NWTA volunteer work party on March 12th.

Not interested in racing but would still like to support this collaborative trail building effort? Well that was easy! Visit the following weblink to go directly to an online donation site that has been set up by IMBA to enhance the mountain bike opportuntiies at Sandy Ridge. 100% of your donations will go to the "FLOW" and be used this year to construct new flow trails and a trailhead pump track. No donation is to small to help the cause! Thanks for the support!

This Series has been approved via a Special Recreation Permit issued by the Bureau of Land Management.
